About
Drinkist is a free drink tracker and taste journal for iOS and Android. It logs every wine, beer, cocktail, whisky, spirit, coffee and tea you taste in one private journal, identifies bottles from a photo of the label, and — when you are staring at a menu — ranks what is on it against the drinks you have actually rated. It is built and run by one person.
Who makes it
Andrii Cherniakhov is an independent mobile developer publishing as AnCh Tech. Drinkist is one of a small family of apps he builds and maintains himself — the others are Koru, Scruto and iCoach — with no team, no investors and no marketplace to sell you bottles through. He reads every support email personally, and a good share of what ships in each release started as one.
Drinkist exists because he kept forgetting which bottle he had liked. Vivino covered wine and Untappd covered beer, but nothing kept a whisky, a cocktail and a morning pour-over in the same place, and both of them were built around what strangers thought rather than what you did. Drinkist is the journal he wanted: private by default, one rating scale across every drink, and a recommendation engine that only knows your own history.
